Ohio Dog Groomer
Australian Labradoodles have beautiful coats that requires regular grooming every 4-6 weeks. I recommend you find a length that is easy to upkeep and fits your lifestyle so that your Australian Labradoodle doesn’t get matted. Matting can cause discomfort and eventually skin problems, as well as a negative experience for your puppy. Matts and knots in the hair can trap moisture against the skin which can lead to bacterial infections and permanent damage to the skin.
Australian Labradoodles need to have their ear hair plucked because Australian Labradoodles ear hair tends to grow down into the ear canal and can cause ear infections. Be sure to request that your dog’s ear hair is plucked as not all groomers do this automatically. Also, they will need their nails trimmed, as nails can snag furniture, rugs, etc. Long nails can also cause feet to splay, which can end up a serious health issue.
Regular combing with a metal comb is important and can be a great way to bond with your Australian Labradoodle to let them know you love them.
